MASERATI MCXtrema: EXTREME-SPEC HYPERCAR

The final MASERATI MCXtrema: EXTREME-SPEC HYPERCAR is delivered to veteran racer and vintage racecar collector, Michael Moss.

MASERATI MCXtrema: EXTREME-SPEC HYPERCARMaserati marked another milestone in the story of its most extreme track car, with the delivery of the last of MCXtrema produced to an American customer and racing enthusiast. The exclusive handover took place during a private VIP event attended by clients, collectors, and media at the Morgan Automotive Group’s Maserati of Tampa dealership on Saturday, April 18. Guests gathered to witness the unveiling of one of the brand’s most uncompromising and unique creations.

“1 of only 62 in the world, but only 1 like this MCXtrema, was delivered this past weekend to veteran racer and vintage racecar collector, Michael Moss, Sarasota, FL.,” said Andrea Soriani, General Manager, Maserati Americas. “The 62nd of 62 built, this MCXtrema is the only one with a distinctive Italian flag livery, making our 100th year on the track, a little more Xtreme!”

“This car represents everything I love about performance and engineering,” said Moss. “From the moment I began working with Maserati on this car, I wanted to create something truly personal and as focused as possible for the track. Being part of the journey, from visiting Modena and attending the GT2 European Series to experiencing the car on track with Andrea Bertolini at Monza, made this delivery incredibly meaningful. I can’t wait to push it to its limits in GT competition.”

MASERATI MCXtrema: EXTREME-SPEC HYPERCAR“I had a wonderful time celebrating the reveal of my MCXtrema with, above, L to R, Vincent Biard, Head of Maserati Corse, Mike, Christopher Rogers, General Leader, Maserati of Tampa, and Simone Roscetti, Florida Regional Sales Manager, Maserati Americas.”MASERATI MCXtrema: EXTREME-SPEC HYPERCARMoss’ MCXtrema stands apart as a uniquely specified example featuring a distinctive Italian flag livery, making it the only car of its kind. It also holds the provenance of bearing the last VIN in MCXtrema’s production run, number 62. Since day one, Moss has been in close communication with the brand and Corse (Racing) team, making dedicated visits to Maserati’s Modena Headquarters and to Turin for configuration exercises with Maserati Head of Design, Klaus Busse. Moss specified his MASERATI MCXtrema: EXTREME-SPEC HYPERCAR for peak performance at the track – it is configured without a passenger seat to minimize weight and includes options such as a race-oriented tool kit, telemetry options, quick refuelling kit, and advanced TPMS, which measures the temperature of the surface of the tires. This extreme specification underscores his intent to actively compete with the car.

Further enhancing its rarity, the car bears the signature of Klaus Busse, right, on the transmission cooling air scoop, accompanied by an original hand-drawn sketch on the rear body, an artistic tribute to this special collaboration between client and brand. The delivery event also showcased Maserati’s broader one-off and performance line-up, with the MC20 Leggenda and MC20 Special Editions, as well as the track-focused GT2 Stradale, present, offering guests a comprehensive look at the Trident brand’s racing DNA and innovation.

“MCXtrema is the ultimate expression of Maserati’s racing spirit – unfiltered, uncompromising and designed for those who demand only the most extreme driving experience,” said Andrea Soriani. “Delivering this unique example to Mr. Moss is a testament to the deep connection between our clients and the brand. His passion for motorsport and commitment to experiencing the car on the track embody exactly what the MCXtrema was created to do.”

As the jewel of Maserati’s Corse program, MCXtrema is motivated by the most powerful version of the Trident’s patented Formula 1-derived Nettuno V6 engine, delivering 730 horsepower to the rear wheels through a sequential racing gearbox. Its extraordinary performance is supported through cutting-edge aerodynamics using minimal ride height, a fully flat underfloor, front splitter, rear wing, and shark fin, plus a sculptural rear diffuser. MCXtrema’s carbon-fiber monocoque chassis ensures maximum rigidity while maintaining a lightweight structure, resulting in a curb weight of only 2,866 pounds. Its racing suspension features double-wishbone geometry and kinematics, along with fully adjustable racing dampers, springs, and anti-roll bars, all tuned for the track. MCXtrema underwent extensive virtual simulations and over 200 hours of real-world dynamic testing to refine its handling and performance to the highest level. Unrestricted by road homologation requirements, the MASERATI MCXtrema: EXTREME-SPEC HYPERCAR represents the pinnacle of Maserati’s engineering capabilities.

Moss’ journey with Maserati reflects the bespoke nature of the MCXperience program, which includes visits to the brand’s historic headquarters in Modena, engagement with Maserati’s design and engineering teams, and curated track events with the expertise and support of the Maserati Corse team. Through MCXperience Concierge, owners can register for tailored driving experiences and enjoy dedicated aftersales support, ensuring that every aspect of their journey with the MCXtrema is exceptional.

This special Tampa delivery event marks the latest chapter for MCXtrema, as the car prepares to make its competitive debut in international GT racing with its new owner.
