The Land of Lakes GTO Club hosts the 27th edition of one of the longest running
muscle-car-only shows.
The Land of Lakes GTO Club, a chapter of the GTO Association of America, started this long-standing, upper Midwest tradition in 1987 as both fundraising event and as a training exercise to prepare the membership to host a future GTOAA international convention. The first MMC was a rousing success, and as a result, in the summer of 1990, the club hosted the first of two memorable conventions in Minnesota.
The MMC features vehicles defined as factory-built and dealer-sold, built between the model years 1961 and 1974, and meeting specific power to weight specifications. The registration committee has an official listing, based on information from the Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975, that highlights vehicles meeting their 12-to-1-pounds/horsepower metric.
