FERRARI CELEBRATES MILLE MIGLIA: 65 PRANCING HORSES!

A tribute to ‘the world’s most beautiful road race.’
The streets of Desenzano provided the venue for the start of both the Mille Miglia and Ferrari’s tribute to “the world’s most beautiful road race,” as Enzo Ferrari liked to call it. A total of 20 historic Ferraris lined out for the former with 45 contemporary Ferraris fielded for the latter. Two rare LaFerraris competing also attracted the many enthusiasts gathering for the historic event.

After parading through the center of Brescia on Thursday and gathering for the official start at the waterfront in Desenzano, the cars finally got on the road. They then took in a plethora of historic old town centers, including Sirmione with its lovely castle, the fortifications of Peschiera, Verona where they paraded past the Roman theatre, and Marostica with its unique chessboard square.

Needless to say, the entire route was thronged with enthusiasts who cheered on the Ferraristi quite literally from the start to the finish line for day one in Ferrara.
The best is yet to come.
